The School of Pharmacy offers graduate study leading to the doctor of philosophy degree (PhD) in
pharmaceutical sciences, which may be concentrated in disciplinary areas represented by four divisions. Each division is engaged in the education of both professional and graduate students while also focusing on a broad spectrum of research.
The excellent rapport among the various schools, departments, institutes, and centers within the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill encourages interdisciplinary collaborative research by graduate students and faculty. The graduate programs also benefit from faculty affiliations with GlaxoSmithKline, RTI International, Duke University, Wake Forest University School of Medicine on the Bowman Gray Campus, and many other companies and organizations in the Research Triangle Park area.
