Information for New Students


Welcome to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. We are anxiously awaiting your arrival in August and want to remind you of important details that will require your attention before your arrival.

Checklist (see links on the right for more information)

  1. Obtain an Onyen.
  2. Access Blackboard.
  3. Complete the PY1 Information Update form and e-mail the document to the School of Pharmacy registrar, Ms. Dama Keck (dama_keck@unc.edu).
  4. If local, get your UNC One Card. If not, you can get it at orientation or once classes begin.
  5. Plan to attend orientation on August 18 and begin classes on August 19.

Biochemistry Challenge Exam

Have you taken a previous Biochemistry course? If so, you have a chance to place out of Biochemistry I or II by taking the challenge exam. This is an optional, multiple-choice exam covering basic material from Biochem I and II. It will be given on Tuesday, August 19th at 9:00 a.m. Last year, 50 percent of the students taking this exam placed out of Biochem I. If you would like to take the challenge exam, please RSVP to Dama Keck at dama_keck@unc.edu by August 8, 2008

Physiology Challenge Exam

Have you already taken several human anatomy and physiology courses? If so, you may be able to pass the physiology challenge exam and be exempt from taking PHCY 203 (physiology). This exam will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at 2:00 p.m. If you would like to take this challenge exam, please RSVP to Dama Keck at dama_keck@unc.edu by August 8, 2008.
