Log onto Blackboard at http://blackboard.unc.edu (note: no www) using your Onyen and password.

In the blue box labeled “My Courses” click on the PY1, PY2 and PY3 Class WebPage link.

The page opens with Announcements. You may view announcements from today, this week, this month, or the entire archives.

Choose “New Student Information” from the menu on the left. There’s not a whole lot in there right now, but new things are added every few days.
You will notice that sometimes there are files that you can open and/or download. Sometimes we place entire files in here, sometimes we just put the information in text, depending on the information.

Once you explore other folders you will find registration information and where we posted the lab section you have been assigned to in the next week or so. Beginning with your second semester in our program, you will be able to register for whatever lab section you choose.

Feel free to browse.  Remember that this information may not always be up-to-date simply because it is not pertinent at the moment.

To send an email from Blackboard, choose “Communication” from the menu on the left and choose “Send Email”.

Generally you will be choosing “Select Users” or “Select Groups”. Please do not send spam! It is a violation of university policies and can be a violation of the Honor Code!

The Discussion Boards are a better place than email for chatting up your questions or concerns. This is not to discourage you from emailing, but rather to encourage you to share, since most of your classmates probably have the same questions! 

To access the forums, choose “Communication” from the menu on the left again. Then choose “Discussion Boards”.
