The inaugural Pharmacy Open House at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill on October 9, 2008 from 5:00-6:30 pm in Kerr Hall's Howard Q. and Mescal S. Ferguson Auditorium (Room 2001). We’re holding this event to tell college students more about the profession of pharmacy.
Pharmacists are on the front lines of health care, and we don’t have enough
of them. That means that a pharmacy degree is your ticket to a rewarding
career almost anywhere in the country. In North Carolina alone, the average
starting salary for a pharmacist is $80,000 to $120,000. They are the
drug-information experts and work hand in hand with other health care
providers in pharmacies, hospitals, industry, and many other areas.
Pharmacy students must be proficient in math, chemistry, and biology.
Two years of prerequisite college course work is required before entering
into pharmacy school. The admission process is competitive, therefore good
preparation is critical.
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy wants to see the best and brightest
joining our profession. That means we have to make sure that outstanding
candidates like you have the opportunity to prepare early. The effort you put
forth will be rewarded many times over.
