The Division of Medicinal Chemistry and Natural Products, in conjunction with
the North Carolina RNA Society and the UNC Department of Biochemistry and
Biophysics, will present a seminar by Scott Silverman, PhD, on Monday,
April 14 at 4:00 p.m.
Silverman is an associate professor of chemistry, biochemistry, and
biophysics in the University of Illinois Department of Chemistry. His laboratory
studies fundamental and applied aspects of the nucleic acids, DNA and RNA
using concepts and techniques from organic chemistry, chemical biology,
and biochemistry.
The seminar is titled "DNA As a Catalyst for Bio-organic Chemistry" and will
be held in the Tate-Turner-Kuralt Building, room 136.
