Application Process

Application Process

Applications will be reviewed on a competitive selection basis until May 30, 2008 or until the course is filled. Applications by women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged. Modest Travel Scholarships are available on a competitive basis.

Registration will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Training Needs. This course is intended to train individuals in animal handling techniques especially for those whose research is dependent on the techniques we offer. Those with little to no animal handling experience may be given preference to more seasoned animal handlers.
  2. Home Institution. This course is open to those individuals at universities/colleges as well as members of the government and industry sectors. We reserve the right to balance the class based on home institution to encourage diversity to further enhance the learning experience.

To apply, complete the Application Form below and mail or fax back along with a one-page statement of interest entailing: the reasons for enrolling in this course, how it will benefit your research, and prior experience (if any) with animal-based research.
