Cirrus Pharmaceuticals Inc., which was founded in 1997 by Anthony Hickey, PhD, was recognized in November 2006 as one of the fifty fastest growing private companies in the Triangle. Cirrus, which is based in Research Triangle Park, was ranked thirteenth on the Triangle Business Journal’s annual Fast 50 list. The rankings were determined by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, which evaluated locally headquartered private companies based on a formula that considers both dollar growth and percentage rate of growth over a three-year period. Companies were required to have had at least $3 million in revenue in 2005.
“Cirrus’ success stems from the collaborative research environment we have fostered with our clients and employees,” said Hickey, who serves as CEO and president of Cirrus. “This award is also a testament to the quality of service Cirrus provides its clients as well as to the quality of employees at Cirrus.”
Cirrus, a contract product development company that assists biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies with formulation development and regulated testing of pharmaceutical products throughout their development, has expanded over the past several years and currently has a 30,000 square foot facility with approximately seventy employees.
