Adding Pages
Now that you have the sections set up, it’s time to add some pages. Click on Grants in the navigation menu to go to the folder. You’ll see a message that says “There are currently no items in this folder.” We want to add a page with your Grants information.
- Click on “add item” in the first row of buttons, then pick “page”, this takes you to an Edit Page screen.

- Fill in the fields for Title and Description (optional). Note that anything you put in the Description field appears in a gray box under your banner. Don’t put the main text for you page in this field, or you’ll end up with a huge gray box.
- Put the text for your page in the Body Text field. Remember, if you want to cut and paste from Word, be sure to cut and paste from Word into Notepad first, and then from Notepad into your browser so as to avoid bringing in any formatting styles not supported by the site. Once the text is in the box, you can use the formatting tools in the green bar above the box to apply formatting.

- Below the Body Text box, there is a field called “Related Item(s)”. You can use this feature to attach links at the bottom of the page to other pages that have relevance to the content on this page. For instance, if your page contains significant references to a particular faculty member, you can insert a link to their profile page or their research page. Let’s add a link to Justa Test’s faculty profile:
- Click on Browse, and a new window will pop up.
- Type “Justa Test” into the search box, and the profile will show up in the search results.
- You’ll have to either maximize this popup window or scroll to the right to see two links: “insert” and “view”. View pops up another window to show you the item. Click “insert” to add this item to your page as a Related Item.
- Once you click “insert”, the popup window closes, and you’ll see the selected item appear in the list under “Related Item(s)”
- Repeat the process to add more items if you wish.
- Leave the “Allow Discussion” field alone unless you want to allow visitors to post comments on this page.

- Click “save” at the bottom of the page, and you’ll see the page.
