The Life of a UNC PharmD

UNC PharmD students are known across the nation for being leaders in pharmacy. They consistently win national awards and accolades, such as placing first in the APhA-ASP National Patient Counseling Competition and the ASHP National Clinical Skills Competition. They are frequently chosen to intern with the American Pharmacists Association, the pharmaceutical industry, and with the US Public Health Service.

UNC pharmacy students are also deeply rooted in community involvement. They provide health care services
to the poor and underserved by staffing a weekly medical clinic at the Chapel Hill Homeless Shelter and participating in a weekly multidisciplinary clinic in Chapel Hill. They build houses as part of the Health for Habitat program. They host health fairs on campus and in the community. Whether they are fundraising for various philanthropies or providing much-needed health care services, UNC students place community service as a top priority.

To respond to the diverse interests of our students, The School provides a variety of student activities from which to choose. Whether students want to participate in a professional fraternity, an honors program, a national organization or community service initiatives, the School of Pharmacy has something for everyone.
