The School

The School of Pharmacy educates 500 professional students and 100 graduate students, postdocs, residents, and fellows each year. These students benefit from the expertise of a faculty consisting of more than one hundred on- and off-campus clinical practitioners and researchers who are leaders in pharmaceutical practice and research.

The School offers a plethora of student activities to feed the diverse interests of its students. The Graduate Student Organization facilitates communication among the School’s graduate students and with faculty and university administration. It also encourages participation in university, state, and national graduate student/scientific organizations, as well as interaction between graduate and undergraduate students.

In addition, the School of Pharmacy is adjacent to the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Social Work, as well as the UNC Health Care System and the Health Sciences Library. This close proximity helps nurture the highly collaborative relationships between the School of Pharmacy and the University’s other health affairs schools in teaching, practice, and research.
