Prerequisites

PY3 status.

Description

Provides a review of the general principles of business law including property, contracts, and torts. Special emphasis is given to statutes and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of drugs such as the Federal and State Controlled Substance Acts, Federal and State Food, Drug and Cosmetic Acts, the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, the Prescription Drug Marketing Act of 1987 and the North Carolina Pharmacy Practice Act. Class discussion and assignments will include the application of ethics and values to fact situations involving the use of drugs in health care.
